Art Entry Rules

  • Artwork with saw tooth hangers, string, or any other hangers will not be accepted.
  • At the discretion of the Art Show staff, unframed paintings on stretched
  • canvas may be accepted, but only when sides are painted with no staples showing.
  • Entries in Youth classes may be framed, but it is not required.
  • If art is framed, there should be a hanger on the back.
  • Hangers are no longer required on the back of unframed youth artwork.
  • Unframed two -dimensional work must be securely mounted on poster paper or heavy construction paper, preferably black (white or other colors will still be accepted).

must be attached to the lower right hand
corner. 
 
  • No other cards may be attached to the front of youth artwork.
  • All work must be completed in the last two years and not previously entered.
  • Each adult artist may enter two pieces per category.
  • All sculpture must be assembled and ready for display.
  • Adult photography must have an image size of 8 X 10 or larger.
  • There is no maximum size limit.
  • Generally, the election between professional and amateur status will be left to the discretion of the exhibitor. An individual that holds a degree in art or teaches art must exhibit as a professional. However, the occasional sale of a work of art or the informal tutelage of another should not justify exhibiting as a professional.
  • All pottery will be entered in the Art Show instead of the Ceramics
  • Dept. • Painted furniture and decoupage will not be accepted in art.
    Each artist must submit a REGISTRATION FORM (click here)
  • Under no circumstances can artwork leave the exhibit prior to pick up time on 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 27th, 2024.
 
 
Teachers may only bring in student work by appointment.

When funding permits, teachers who bring in at least 20 pieces of
student work will receive a small “teacher incentive” check on
pickup day to help offset the cost of mounting, supplies, etc.
 

CLASSES

SECTION 1- PROFESSIONAL

SECTION 2- ADULT HOBBYIST

Class No. (MEDIUM)

1. Oils or Acrylic

2. Watercolor

3. Drawing

4. Pottery

5. Sculpture

6. Photography – Color/Black & White – Must be a color or
monochromatic print from a single original exposure. The
following are acceptable: Sepia – toned photos, Digital color
photos changed by computer program to black and white, and
photos moderately adjusted by computer for color, tone, etc.

7. Photography – Computer – Any two – dimensional images
originating in a camera and the n composited together and
significantly changed using a computer program, belong in this
category, Images must contain original photographic elements
created by the photographer of digital artist. Painting – effect
pictures created using digital software belong in this category.
(Note: this category is for heavily composited images designed
using multiple sources or programs. Please enter in Class 6
single image photos that have had minor adjustments to color,
tone, etc.., images with minor cloning, or airbrushing, and images
which were changed from digital color to black and white.) 8.
Open or Mixed Media (two or more of the above media in one
piece or other artwork that does not fit in Classes 1 – 7, including
but not limited to, collage, weaving, stained glass, etc.

SECTION 3

YOUTH ART

9th-12th grade

Class No.

There will be no monetary award for individual class winners.

Each exhibitor may enter one piece in each of the following classes

  1. Painting
  2. Drawing (pencil, colored pencil, ink, pastels, etc.)
  3. Pottery – (all art made with clay including vessels and sculptures)
  4. Sculpture (3- D pieces)
  5. Photography
  6. Open Media (artwork that does not fit into above classes including but not limited to, printmaking, graphic design, collage, fiber, weaving, stained glass)

6th-9th Grade

Three 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded in each class.
 
There will be no monetary award for individual class winners.
 
Each exhibitor may enter one piece in each of the following classes.

The Art Show competition has made an effort to comply with NAEA

(National Art Educations Association) policy on contest and competitions for young children.

Students in Grades 2nd and below will not be judged or awarded ribbons.    

Each exhibitor may enter one piece in each of the following classes
